Basic information about Feng Gongs

Gongs are one of the oldest and most important musical instruments in Southeast Asia. They come in various designs and sizes.

The Chinese feng gong, often called fen or wind gong, is a nearly flat, rimless disc made of polished bronze alloy and slightly curved. This design produces deep sounds when struck lightly and powerful, energizing sounds when struck hard. Its sound usually has a fairy effect and spreads from the inside to the outside.

It can be played on both sides and the smaller sizes, up to 55 cm in diameter, can also be held well in the hand. They are valuable companions in sound work, sound therapy and sound massage.
